How to Report Your PDUs

Once you’ve watched the videos, it’s time to get credit! Since there are just over 90 minutes of videos on this site, you can claim 1.5 PDUs (1 PDU=1 hour of learning). The Project Management Institute (PMI) provides an online PDU reporting site. Click here to be taken to the site. If you are not already logged into the PMI site, you’ll need to do so. Then follow these steps to claim your PDU’s:

  • Click “Report PDUs” (you’ll see the link below the title “PDU Activity as of xx/xx/xxxx”)
  • Select “Category C”
  • Click on Next.
  • Input the following information:
    • Program/Title description: 20 Ways to Radically Improve Your Ability to Deliver (video series)
    • Date started: Date you started watching videos
    • Date completed: When you ended watching
    • Objectives: You must use your own objectives here. What were you trying to learn? What were your goals with watching the videos?
    • Hours Completed: 1.5
    • Process: Planning, Closing
    • Knowledge Area: Project Human Resource Mgt, Project Scope Mgt, Project Risk Mgt
    • Industry: Select your industry
    • Provider name: Institute for Leadership Excellence & Development Inc.
    • Address: 765 Pheasant Ridge Court, Suite 101
    • City: Lake Zurich
    • State: IL
    • Zip/Postal code: 60047
    • Country: USA
    • Phone Number: (866) 884-5323
    • URL: http://www.free-project-management-videos.com
    • Email: vidoes AT i-leadonline DOT com.
  • Click Next.
  • Input the total number of PDU’s you are claiming: 1.5
  • Click Next.
  • Confirm your submission that you are being accurate with your entry.

NOTE: PMI has the right to audit any PDUs that you claim. For Self-Directed Learning PDU’s like this offering, here is what PMI says you would need if you were audited: “Evidence supporting your reported learning project, including notes from and dates of discussion or reading.”

Since we are unable to absolutely verify that someone watches all the videos, we can’t in good faith provide a certificate of completion. However, as a Self-Directed Category C PDU, you can document a note stating the dates you watched the videos, perhaps even the names of the videos you watched or at least a link to this page. Such documentation will suffice.

Please don’t hesitate to contact me with any questions about this process. Thank you!

Want to understand how many PDU’s required to take test on PMI.

Andy Kaufman, PMP July 20, 2011 at 6:20 am

Hello! You need 35 “contact hours” to apply for the exam. Think of a contact hour as an hour of classroom training. In the case of this video series, you get a free contact hour if you watch all the videos. By the way, you can learn more about the application process by visiting http://www.i-leadonline.com/GetYourPMP.asp. I wish you much success!

I want to know how many PDU ican get for teaching PMP EXAM PREP Course. I have taught 3 sessions now. So do i qualify for 35+35+35 Pdu?

Hi Adnan. Giving lectures and presentations is a great way to get PDU’s! Not only do you get rewarded with PDU’s, it also helps other people! Though you don’t earn one PDU for every hour you teach, there are some good options available.

Your first option is Category 2C: Speaker/Teacher on project management topics at a conference, symposium, workshop or formal course. In this category you receive 10 PDU’s for each presentation or workshop you deliver.

Your second option is Category 2D: Speaker on a project management topic at a PMI component meeting. In this category you will earn 5 PDU’s for each presentation.

Either way, by delivering workshops and presentations you can help others while earning PDU’s. I wish you much continued success!

Hi,
Thanks for the information for my previous question. When i was reporting for my PDU i did not see Cat 1,2 etc. Only A,B,C,D etc. So i am assuming that by Category 2C: Speaker/Teacher you mean CAT B? or Cat:B C? Please clarify.
Thanks

Hi,
So after listening to all 20 podcasts, do we get 1 PDU or many more than that. If more, How many please?
Thanks,
Roopesh

Hi Roopesh! That’s a great question. You get 1 PDU for every hour of learning. There are 94 minutes of videos so you can accurately claim 1.5 PDU’s if you watch them all. Let me know if you have any follow-up questions. Thanks!
